Les Scouts Tunisiens
Les Scouts Tunisiens (in Arabic: الكشافةالتونسية; The Tunisian Scouts) is a youth organization concerned with the education of youths of both sexes. Following the spirit of the world scout movement which is adopted to the tunisian reality, the association prepares its members to be active citizens in society.Tunisian Scouts is an accociation under No. 4931 and has the status of a public service under the terms of order No. 182-77, February 16, 1977.
Scouting in Tunisia began in 1924. At that time, Tunisian scouts participated in forigen groups, in particular, French.
In March 1933, the first Tunisian scout unit was created, folowed by many other scout associations. After the independance of Tunisia in 1956, the decision was made at a special congress to unite all Tunisian scout associations into one unique organization: Tunisian Scouts.
